My Gift of Grace: A game for fostering end-of-life discussions

We’ve written before about how challenging it can be to broach the topic of death and end-of-life planning with friends and family members. Although we all know that eventually we’ll have to make arrangements for our own passing or for the passing of a loved one, thinking about those experiences before they come knocking may take us out of our comfort zones.

Recently, we learned about a resource for this very challenge that we think is pretty awesome. It’s called My Gift of Grace, and it turns end-of-life discussions into a game.

The game is designed by a group called The Action Mill, which specializes in making discussions about death more comfortable and commonplace. My Gift of Grace is a question-and-answer game that sparks discussion about topics related to both life and death. It comes with a deck of question cards, and it can be played with close friends, acquaintances, or even strangers.

If you’ve struggled in the past with fostering end-of-life discussions, this seems like the perfect tactic to try. The creators have even provided some advice for how to persuade others to play My Gift of Grace with you.
