Beneva J. Kolbe, resident of Perrysburg, OH, passed away on May 3, 2023. Daughter of the late Rudolph and Bertha (nee Folk) Lay. Beloved wife of the late James Kolbe. Adored mother of James “Jimmy” (Carrie) Kolbe, Tracie (Mark) Chovan and Jammie (Kevin) Miller. Treasured grandmother of Sarah (David) Dunnigan, Michael Nagy, Ashley Kolbe, James (Karissa) Kolbe, Cory Chovan, Hannah Miller, Nathan Miller and Abby Miller. Great-grandmother of Kanelo James Rivas, and soon to be, James Michael Kolbe, Jr. Sister of John (Beverly) Lay and Bob (Sharon) Lay.

Beneva was fond of the outdoors and spending time fishing and boating with her late husband. She enjoyed baking pies and her famous carrot cake for her friends and family. Board games were her favorite pass time, she taught “her rules” to her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family members and her friends.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Ronald McDonald House in Beneva’s honor.

A visitation will be held on May 10, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a sharing of memories immediately following, starting at 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southwest Chapel at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, OH 43614.
