Frank “Spanky” Martinez, age 62, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on November 29, 2022, at St. Anne's Mercy Hospital, with his family by his side. Frank was born on February 6, 1960, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Apolonio and Carmen (Espinoza) Martinez.

Frank graduated from Woodward High School, class of 1979. He was currently employed with Jeep for 38 years. When Frank wasn’t working, he was jamming with his friends, Tom and Dave. Together, they were in a band for 40 years, which Frank played the drums. Most of all, family was most important. He loved the time spent with them and the memories made, especially with the grandchildren. Frank would help anyone in need; he was there to help a hand to anyone who needed it. He was an amazing husband, dad, papa, brother, uncle, and friend. This isn’t goodbye, it’s see you later…

Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving wife of 41 years, Anna (Arnold) Martinez; children, Maria Martinez (Mark), Christina Martinez, and Frank Martinez (Nikki); nine beautiful grandchildren, Ariana, Zariah, Carmen, Ruth, Naomi, Frankie, Johnny, Alex, and Mateo; siblings, Diane Barrera (Rick), Martin Martinez (Teresa), Mike Martinez, Janie Vigil, Yolanda Martinez, Maria Martinez (David), Rosa Zapata (Jorge), Irene Martinez (Joe); and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry and Manuel Martinez; and a nephew, Dody Martinez.

Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623, on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm. At 7:00 pm, sharing of memories will take place, so be sure to come with a memorable time of Frank.

Frank will be laid to rest at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery.
