Eloise L. “Cookie” Potete-Holston, age 63, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Heartland at ProMedica. She was born on February 18, 1958 to Wilbur and Laura Potete in Toledo, OH. Cookie graduated in 1976 from Libbey High School and then attended the University of Toledo. She was a hairdresser most of her life. Cookie was known as the neighborhood mom to all. She had a huge heart and enjoyed taking care of others. Cookie was very generous, giving and always had a smile on her face. She was the life of the party and lit up the room when she walked in. Cookie was known for her fashion and eyewear. She loved nothing more than spending time with family, especially her grandson; he was Meme’s Big Boi. Cookie’s smile, spirit and caring nature will deeply be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father. Left to cherish Cookie’s memory are her only son, Cecil “Cee” (Lakyra) Holston; beloved grandson, Myles Holston; mother, Laura Potete; sister, Joann Campbell; niece, Tasha Campbell; nephews, Perry Buck and Andre Buck Jr.; 2 great-nieces, Tasharica and Tamyra; and many other family members and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 from 5 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). (For the safety of the Potete-Holston family, masks are required with social distancing).
