Marilyn K. "Aunt Mare" Tucker
1952 - 2020

Marilyn K. “Aunt Mare” Tucker, age 68, of Toledo, passed away Friday, November 27, 2020 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. She was born on September 21, 1952 to Walter and Dorothy Tucker in Toledo. Marilyn graduated from Waite High School in 1970. She worked at Jeep for 10 years in the canteen and then worked at St. Charles Hospital in dietary which encouraged her to become a certified STNA. Marilyn then spent most of her career then at Luther Home of Mercy in Williston, OH until retiring. This was more than a job to her, this was her passion and where her heart was with the MRDD patients. Marilyn loved football; she was an avid Chicago Bears fan and was the former commissioner of the East Toledo Junior Football League. She enjoyed collecting precious moments and Eeyore mementos. Marilyn also loved animals, especially her dogs. She enjoyed spending time with her family and nieces and nephews. Marilyn’s smile, spirit and caring nature will deeply be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted pets, Mugzie, Shaggy and Hoopdie; and significant other, Dr. Mark Banks. Marilyn is survived by her loving sisters, Dorothy Staerker and Barbara (Gordon) Brough; favorite nephews, Dennis A. (Tammy) Staerker, Jr., and Todd B. (Carie) Staerker; great-nieces, Bridget, Brittany, and Kayleigh; great-nephews, Nicholas and Michael; 8 great-great-nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

There will be a private visitation and graveside service due to Covid. Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, Toledo (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
