Norman C. Huss, age 94, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Friday, September 21, 2018 at Ebeid Hospice Residence. He was born September 12, 1924 to George and Alice (Pfieffer) Huss in Sylvania, Ohio. Norman was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. He was a recipient of a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star being stationed in North Africa, Sicily and Italy. Norman worked as an auto mechanic and service manager for over 60 years before retiring. He was a longtime member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and the National & Ohio Watchmakers and Clockmakers Association. Norman enjoyed repairing and collecting antique watches and clocks, a longtime hobby of his. He also liked bicycling, hunting, fishing and spending time with friends and family. Norman will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 73 years, Ruth Huss; brother, Gordon Huss; an infant brother; grandson, Cory Huss; and granddaughter, Shelly Huss. Norman is survived by his only son, Jerry Lee (Christine) Huss; grandchildren, Randall (Amanda), Mark (Holly) and Gregory Huss; great-grandchildren, Mason, Reagan, Sydney, Connor, Cameron and Pyper Huss; 2 nieces and many cousins and dear friends.

Memorial Services for Norman will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 5845 Elmer Dr., Toledo, OH 43615, with gathering at church from 10 – 11:00 a.m. Burial was private. Newcomer – Northwest Chapel, Toledo (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the church or the Alzheimer’s Association of Northwest Ohio.
