Kenneth L. “Ken” Roberts, age 73, of Toledo, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 with his loving daughter by his side. He was born on December 10, 1944 to Ken and Joy Roberts in Toledo. Ken graduated from Woodward High School and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Toledo. His passions were his ’64 Corvette, watching NASCAR, and football. Most of all, Ken was an avid powerlifter; competing at the city, state, national and world levels. He also mentored many other lifters and became known as “the Pioneer of the sport.”

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ron Roberts. Ken is survived by his loving daughters, Kelly (Jim) Robb and Elyse (Mark) Roberts; grandchildren, Dustin, Devin, Haley, Markus, Elizabeth, Chelsea and Braylee; niece, Stacy (Corey) Ryder; great-nephew, Chase; and many dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 2 – 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Ohio German Shepherd Rescue or a charity of the Donor’s Choice.

Ken’s family would like to give a special thank you to his caregivers throughout this difficult time for all of the love, care and support given to Ken and our family.
