Ralph Schmitz, age 82, of Fostoria, passed away on Monday evening, February 5, 2018 at Toledo Hospital where he was surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 3, 1936 to Ralph Schmitz and Loretta (Myers) Kinn in Fostoria. He was a graduate of Fostoria High School and worked at Buckeye Auto Parts for many years. Ralph was an avid collector of Hot Wheels cars and followed Nascar racing, including his favorite driver Richard Petty. He was a big baseball fan and always cheered for the Cleveland Indians. Ralph will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his contagious laugh and wheeling and dealing at the Tiffin flea market.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of over 35 years, Brenda (Waltermyer) Schmitz; children, Ralph Schmitz, Rodney (Jennie) Schmitz, Ronda (Kent) Jacob and Jason (Mary) Schmitz; step-children, Danielle Heath, Dawn (Jim) Pace and Gary Brown, Jr.; 19 grandchildren; many precious great-grandchildren and furry friends, Midnight and Sassy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Schmitz; 3 of his grandchildren, Abram, Brandon and Jordan and beloved canine companion, Toby.
