Margaret “Maggie” Smith, 83, of Perrysburg, OH passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017. Margaret was born to the late James Maier and Mildred Schaefer on January 23, 1934 in Toledo, Ohio.

The loving mother of two, Margaret is survived by her son, Gary Puckett of Lake Mary, Florida and daughter, Margayla Sabin of Saint Paul, Minnesota, along with her daughter in law, Betty Puckett, brothers, James Maier and Larry Maier and a daughter of her heart and beloved family friend, Heather Elliott.

John Richard Maier, Margaret’s brother, and Elaine Diefenthaler, Margaret’s stepmother, precede her in death.

The dear grandmother to Carrie Fleishman, Curt Puckett, Kristen Kosinski, Melissa Sutherland, Jordan Sabin and great grandmother to Christian and Cayden Murray, Rowan Fleishman, Ian Sandgren, Samuel Kosinski and Preston and Eloise Sutherland.

Maggie dearly loved her family, friends and attending her Church. Maggie was known for her beautifully crafted wedding and birthday cakes. She loved sewing and crocheting and was wonderfully creative. A little secret she kept was her recipe for the BEST Fried Chicken, served with love to her family after many a Sunday School service.

Family, friends and others whose lives Maggie touched are invited to Newcomer Funeral Home at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, Ohio on Friday, July 21st for visitation between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm. The service to reminisce, grieve, support and celebrate Margaret’s life will be held on Saturday, July 22nd at 10:30 am, also at Newcomer Funeral Home.
