Wayne Joseph Billmaier, peacefully passed away on March 18, 2026, in Sylvania, Ohio, after recently being diagnosed with cancer. Born on February 11, 1971, in Monroe, Michigan, Wayne lived a life marked by deep devotion and remarkable kindness. His journey was one of dedication—to his family, his passions, and his faith.
Wayne’s career spanned notable companies including United Parcel Services (UPS), Techneglas of Perrysburg, and Spartan Chemical, where he contributed his steadfast work ethic and integrity. His pursuit of knowledge took him through studies at Monroe County Community College and Owens Community College, reflecting a lifelong commitment to growth and learning.
Wayne was much more than his professional accomplishments. Those who knew him cherished his goodhearted and kind nature. He was deeply family-oriented, taking immense pride in his loved ones and embodying love in every interaction. Perhaps his proudest accomplishment was the devoted care he gave his mother, Rosemary Billmaier, lovingly serving as her caregiver for over sixteen years—a profound testament to his compassion and selflessness.
A true sports enthusiast, he was an avid fan of the Michigan Wolverines and the Pittsburgh Steelers, treasures in his life that brought him joy and camaraderie. His collection of sports cards, posters, and Star Wars collectables showcased a playful spirit and a fondness for cherished memories and stories.
Wayne’s family, who remain an enduring source of strength and comfort, include his loving mother Rosemary Billmaier, his sisters Sheila Santure (Michael) and Dina Gossett (Paul Richard), and his brother Frank Billmaier (Lisa). He is also survived by his dear nieces Laura Sepulveda, Andrea Sepulveda (Trent Thompson), Ciara Gossett (Celly Odell), Emily Goebel (Tim), Erin Kelley (Adam Golday), nephews Kyle Billmaier (Brittany), Derek Gossett (Taylor), Seth Kelley, along with great-nieces and nephews Lane, Carter, Ember, Raegan, Amelia, Scarlett, Mark, Owen, Rowen, Tate, Ruby, Scotty, Blaze, and one great-great niece, Adeline. His lifelong friend James LaPointe, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins, who also hold him dearly in their hearts.
Wayne joins in eternal rest with his father Clifford Billmaier, sister Paula Billmaier, and grandparents Frank and Leona Billmaier, Ruby and Pauline Rowe, whose memories endure through the lives he touched.
Friends and family are invited to gather in honor of Wayne on March 29, 2026, with a Memorial Gathering from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a Memorial Service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, both held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest Toledo, located at 4150 W Laskey Rd, Toledo, OH 43623.
