Walter Leo Turk Jr.

Walter L. "Walt" Turk age 80, of Ottawa Lake, Michigan, peacefully passed away Thursday July 9, 2026, at the Manor of Perrysburg, where he was affectionately known as "Turkey." He was born on August 18, 1945, to Frances and Walter L. Turk Sr. He grew up on Turk Road in Ottawa Lake, Michigan. On January 28, 1967, Walt married the love of his life, Ruby J. Sumner. Together they had three sons and one daughter. All of whom he was deeply proud of. 

Walt had worked at Dana Corporation for several years, then worked at Jeep until his retirement. He was known for his profound sense of humor, contagious laugh, and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone that needed help. Walt and Ruby were avid Harley-Davison Motorcycle riders. Together, they traveled and camped across the country before her death in 2009. 

In addition to his parents, Walt was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Ruby J. Turk; his daughter, Diane; his sister, Frances; and his brothers, Gary, Richard and David. He is survived by his sons, Dennis (Linda), Donald (Michele Snider), and Daniel; his grandchildren, Nathan, Alexis, Zachary, Amanda, Christian, Marisa, and Morgan; his great-grandchildren, Neveah, Paige, Nieliea, and Gabriel; his siblings, Carol, Allen, Sam, and Katherine; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests Sunday July 19, 2026, from 3pm to 7pm at Newcomer West Sylvania Chapel 3655 King Rd Toledo, Ohio 43617. Funeral Services will be held Monday July 20, 2026, at 10 am Internment will follow at the Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
