Listen to Obituary

Virginia Ann "Ginny" (Morgan) Keeton went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on her mother’s birthday, December 27th, 2025. She was surrounded by family and most importantly at home with “her Freddy.”

She was born on January 13, 1933, in Toledo, Ohio to Paul and Carmen Morgan. She grew up alongside her three sisters, Noryne, Paulyne and Barbara during the depression era but their Uncle Charlie was always there to make sure they were well taken care of. At the age of 12, she even met the infamous J.P. Morgan. Virginia graduated from Libbey High School , where she was a member of the Rainbow Girls.

At just 17 years old, she met the love of her life, Fred Keeton. They were married shortly thereafter on August 24th, 1951, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in faith, love, and devotion. Virginia worked part-time at General Electric, the Commodore Perry Hotel and the Holiday Inn French Quarter while primarily dedicating herself to being a stay-at-home mom and homemaker.

In her earlier years, Virginia was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She later joined Providence Lutheran Church in Holland and St. Peter’s Church on Fort Meyers Beach Island. Singing was one of her deepest-rooted passions, leading her to join the choir at both of her churches.

Virginia and Freddy loved building homes together and raised four beautiful children along the way. The cottage they built on Rose Lake became a place of freedom and endless joy for all who gathered there during their 50 years of ownership. Her love of gardening flourished on the property, resulting in what many considered her most beautiful garden. Their vacation home in Fort Meyers was built strong enough to withstand a hurricane, mirroring the strength of the love they shared.

Virginia had an unmatched affection for birds and nature. She delighted in taking her grandchildren to the park to feed the ducks and listen for the famous Whip-poor-will. She was also an avid traveler, thanks in part to her Uncle Charlie. She visited the British Isles, France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Australia, New Zealand and, most importantly, the Holy Lands. One of her most treasured possessions is her Jesus Stone found near the Sea of Galilee.

Her faith in God, love for others and belief in humanity were a light to all whom she encountered. This steadfast love became the foundation of the family she so beautifully created.

Virginia is survived by her husband Frederick Emerson Keeton; her son, Frederick E. Keeton Jr. (Diane);her daughter Maricarmen K. Westmark, her son Paul L. Keeton (Nancy) and her daughter Wendy K. Keeton; Grandchildren, Marc Keeton (Alison), Jill Keeton, Christina Westmark, Kelly Fells (Steven), Jeffrey Westmark, Cortney Schoene (Andrew), Tiffany Hamilton (Steve), Amanda Keeton (Max Orr), Nathan Keeton (Kyllian), Brianna Flisek (Chris), Nicholas Larrow and Emily Dawson. As well as 20 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Pauline Woggon, Noryn Lockwood and Barbara Morgan.
