Virda S. Wick, age 65, of Holland, Ohio, passed away and gained her heavenly wings on September 30, 2023, at The Toledo Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Virda was born April 21, 1958, in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, to the late Matthew and N. Florine (Miracle) Lowe.
Virda graduated from Ann Arbor High School. A woman of faith, she was a member of Athens Missionary Baptist Church in Walbridge. Virda had the biggest heart; she volunteered for numerous years for Nightingales Harvest, in Toledo, where she would sew items for donation.
Virda enjoyed doing arts and crafts, listening to music, such as folk, country, blues, and classic rock, gardening and enjoying the outdoors, but most of all, spending time with her family. She loved cooking and baking; baking cookies with her grandchildren will forever be a special memory for them.
Virda never met a stranger; she knew everybody, especially in the neighborhood. She would give the shirt off her back and help anybody in need. Her love, smile, cooking, expressive personality, and bluntness will forever be missed by those who knew her. This isn't goodbye, but we will see you again!
Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving children, Tisha (Matthew) Childers, Mathew (Tara) Wick, and Andrew (Jessica) Wick; step-children, James (April) Wick, Christina Miller and Susan (Harley) Chrisman; grandchildren, Kayci, Zachary, Jessica, Mackenzie, Brandon, Connor, Zoey, Adelyn, Savannah, Amelia, and Daniel; great grandchild, Harlan; brothers, Mitchell (Pam) Lowe, Michael (Vicky) Lowe, Brian Lowe, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Virda was preceded in death by the love of her life, James Norman Wick Sr.; brothers, Gary, Lee, Harvey, and Clayton; and her sister, Linda Carol.
Family and friends may gather at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623, on Friday, October 6, 2023, from 2:00 pm until the time of her funeral service at 7:00 pm.
