Veronica “Ronnie” M. Park passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, having lived a remarkable 92 years since her birth in Paulding County, Ohio on October 23, 1933.
Ronnie’s life was defined by her friendly smile and connections with family and friends. She was known for her innate ability to make friends wherever she went. This trait served her well during her eight years at Genesis Village. She became a beloved presence among residents and staff.
Ronnie is survived by her sons, Richard (Karen) Davis and Mark (Laura) Davis. She will hold a special place their hearts. Her grandchildren, Julie Davis, Janet Davis, Brandy (Eric) Heitkamp, Lisa (Bryce) Ludlow, April (Mark) Johnson, Jillian (Joshua) Cordes and Toni (Herb) Eckhart. Her legacy lives on through great-grandchildren, Michael, Kara, Kendall and Grayson plus bonus great grandchildren Braiden, Greg, and Charles. Great-great grandson, Wylie, was the newest addition. Great-great grandson, Finley kept her entertained playing catch, hide and seek and other games. They had a very special bond.
Ronnie is now reunited with her beloved husband, James (Big Jim) Park, her parents Elizabeth and Alexander Asztalos, her brothers, Steve and Joseph and sister, Irene Harshman.
Always a “tomboy” Ronnie was on the 1953 National Fast Pitch softball team. She also competed on the basketball court playing in the Women’s National Championship in 1957. She loved all sports. The San Francisco 49ers was her team, she cheered while watching every game.
Ronnie worked at “A little company called HP”. Her life journey took her West to California and Nevada. She loved the rugged beauty of Wellington, NV where she formed lifelong friendships, a regular site at the Topaz Lake Senior Center.
Ronnie found joy in fishing, camping, bingo and the exciting sound of the penny slots. She also collected unicorns, having about 200 in the collection she loved.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Her spirit, warmth and sense of fun will be fondly remembered.
