Troy D. Briggs, 57 years old, peacefully passed away on August 4th after a 7 year battle with cancer. He was born April 10th, 1969 in Toledo Ohio. He grew up in Sylvania Ohio, attended Sylvania Northview High School, and later took classes at Owens College for digital media.
Troy worked as a drywall finisher at A-Team Drywall, a flatbed driver for J & J Towing, a delivery driver at Parts Plus, a line driver at Russ’s Car Wash, and a tow truck operator at Pat & Jakes Towing. Troy’s main passion in life was playing guitar and writing music. In the early 90’s Troy joined the band R.I.P. Rock and played several gigs with them. After leaving R.I.P. Rock, Troy founded the all original rock band Sweet Revenge. Troy had enormous talent, dedication, and determination. He was the glue and driving force of Sweet Revenge. Troy’s band performed at clubs & concert halls all over Northwest Ohio & Southeast Michigan, won a few Battle of the Bands contests, played live on the radio when featured on Jeff Lamb’s Man Cave twice, and opened for several National and International acts; Bullet Boys, Vince Neil, Misfits, Blue Felix, Jackyl, and twice for Michael Schenker’s Temple of Rock. Troy had many friends and fans. He enjoyed golfing, NASCAR, NHRA events, and car shows.
Troy is survived by his loving sister Bridget “Dazz”, mother Kathy, son Sean, and many other relatives.
