Traci Westray-James, age 64, passed away peacefully, with her daughters by her side; leaving behind a legacy of love that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Traci was a deeply caring and loving woman, a devoted wife, and a dedicated mother whose life centered around her family. She shared a loving bond with her husband, Tom, and together they built a life of love and commitment over 37 years of marriage. She found her greatest joy in her children, Lauryn, Melani, and Kieran, whom she loved unconditionally.
After graduating from Whitmer High School in 1979, Traci dedicated 40 years of her life working as an Order Entry Clerk in architectural hardware at Tanner Supply Company, where she was known for her strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. She took pride in her work and built lasting relationships throughout her career.
Traci had a gentle spirit and a kind heart, always putting others before herself. She had a natural way of making people feel comforted and cared for. Whether through her words, her presence, or her quiet strength, she brought warmth into every room she entered. She was someone you could always count on—steady, compassionate, and full of love.
She was not only a mother to her own children, but a mother figure to many. Her guidance, support, and unconditional care touched countless lives, and many found comfort in her presence as if they were family.
Traci also found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved vacationing in Cape San Blas, Florida, where she could relax and enjoy peaceful moments by the water. She also cherished time spent with friends and family at Carmel’s Mexican Restaurant, where she was known to enjoy a margarita and their famous funky bean dip—moments filled with laughter, connection, and love.
Her love extended beyond her children to her cherished grandchildren, Brody, Jameson, and Vada, who brought her immense pride and joy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Westray; her mother, Nancy Westray; her brothers, Jeff and Ken; and her niece, Jenny.
She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Tom; her daughters, Lauryn and Melani; her son, Kieran; her beloved grandchildren, Brody, Jameson, and Vada; her nieces, Amy, Kara, Molly, Stacie, Crystal and Heather; her nephews, Jon, KC and Tommy and many other family members and loved ones whose lives she touched.
Her love will continue to guide her family, and the lessons she taught through her kindness and strength will never be forgotten.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in honor of her niece, Jenny.
Though she is no longer physically with us, Traci’s love remains—enduring, powerful, and everlasting.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
