Towona Renee Purifie

Towona Renee Purifie, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on September 29, 2026, at St. Vincent's Hospital, just shy of her 69th birthday. She was born on October 11, 1957, in Toledo, and will be remembered as a warm and outgoing person whose presence brought energy and familiarity to those around her.

Towona enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and the moments that brought people together. She liked playing cards, bingo, and bowling, and she also enjoyed trips to the casino. Shopping, especially at Walmart, was something she took particular pleasure in, and she was known as a devoted Steelers fan. Her outgoing nature helped make ordinary days brighter, and she will be remembered for the way she embraced the things she loved with enthusiasm.

She is survived by her children, daughter Tomara Carter and sons Willie Purifie and Annise Purifie. Their bond with her remains a lasting part of her legacy, and her memory will continue to live on through them and through the love shared within their family.

Towona was preceded in death by her parents, Colleen and Amos Purifie, whose memory remained part of her life’s story.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Memorial Gathering on November 6, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Toledo, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, Ohio 43614. A Memorial Service will follow there at 4:00 p.m.

Towona Renee Purifie will be remembered with love for her spirited personality, her enjoyment of good times, and the many memories she leaves behind with those who knew her.
