Anthony “Tony” Meyer, beloved husband, father, son, and friend, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the age of 60, after complications from emphysema. Born on December 3, 1965, in Toledo, Ohio, Tony spent his life deeply rooted in the community that meant so much to him, leaving behind a legacy marked by warmth, dedication, and unwavering love for his family and friends.
Tony was a proud graduate of Maumee High School, class of 1984—the Panther spirit remained with him throughout his life. He went on to shine in a career that spanned more than 25 years in sales at Beaute' Craft, later known as Maley. Following his years in sales, Tony transitioned to a career in real estate, applying the same integrity and commitment that defined so much of his professional life.
Family was at the heart of everything Tony did. On February 19, 1994, he married the love of his life, Candace Meyer. Their partnership was a true testament to devotion and support. Together they built a life that centered around their cherished daughter, Rylee Meyer, who was the pride and joy, and the center of Tony’s world. One of his proudest journeys was coaching Rylee’s soccer team from her earliest days in kindergarten all the way through the eighth grade, nurturing not only her talent but also imparting to her the values of teamwork and perseverance.
Tony’s love for his family was matched by the enjoyment he found in time spent with them and his friends. He was an avid card player—especially poker—and could often be found enjoying a friendly game with those close to him. His spirit of camaraderie also extended to his passions for golf, bowling, fishing, snowmobile trips, and softball. Always up for competition, Tony immersed himself in fantasy football leagues, bonded over football games with fellow Detroit Lions and Ohio State University fans, and never missed a chance to watch or talk boxing.
Tony is survived by his loving wife, Candace; his cherished daughter, Rylee; his devoted mother, Sandra (Ron Wotring) Meyer; his supportive sister, Dawn (Rick) LaFountain; his caring step-mother, Johnnie Meyer; and his nephews and niece, Austin Fry, Hunter, and Harper who he was proud to watch grow. He was preceded in death by his father, LaVern Meyer, whose memory he held close throughout his life.
Tony’s memory will live on in the laughter and stories shared by those who loved him, the lessons he passed down to his daughter, and the friendships he cultivated over a life well-lived. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering loyalty set an example for all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to honor Tony’s life at a Memorial Gathering on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m., both at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Toledo, located at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH 43614. Memorial donations in Tony’s name may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Anthony “Tony” Meyer will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched but will forever be remembered for the love and dedication he showed to the people and community he so deeply cherished.
