Thomas Willard Moore, Sr., a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on December 23, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on January 15, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio, Thomas spent many years working at Campbell's Soup in Napoleon, where he contributed to the community and formed enduring friendships.
Thomas was not only known for his hard work but also for his deep love for his family. He cherished his wife and was committed to building a loving family environment. His children, Janet Moore, Thomas W. (Kimberly) Moore Jr., Barbara Perry, David (Rosharrel) Moore, and Sandra (Sergio) Delgado were a significant part of his life, and he took immense pride in being a father to them. Thomas's legacy continues through his 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, whom he adored and enjoyed spending time with.
A man of great faith, Thomas loved Jesus and was an active member of his church community. He found joy in conversations on his CB radio, often sharing fond moments with his brother. Thomas was a family-oriented individual who stayed close to his loved ones and was always ready to lend a listening ear or a helping hand.
He is survived by his loving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, along with his sisters Dorothy (Ned) Taylor and Linda (Jess) Cardenas, as well as many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
Thomas was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy (Arthur) Vandenberg. He was also preceded in death by his grandson Nicholas Horn and siblings Arthur Vandenberg, Ann Vandenberg, Mertle Vandenberg, John Moore, and Harry Moore and son-in-law Frederick Perry. Their memory will remain with his family as they honor his life and the love he shared with everyone around him.
Visitation will be held on January 3, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 4:30 PM, both at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Toledo, located at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH 43614.
Thomas Willard Moore, Sr. will be remembered for his unwavering faith, dedication to family, and the kindness he extended to all. His presence will be dearly missed but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
