Thomas R. Montgomery

Thomas R. Montgomery, age 72, of Toledo, OH passed away, April 29, 2024 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo. He was born October 11, 1951 in Steubenville, OH to Robert and Phyllis (Rodgers) Montgomery. After graduating from Bowling Green State University with his BS in math and computer science, Tom started at Owens Corning where he remained until his retirement. Upon retiring, Tom became a trainer at Super Fitness and took part in bodybuilding competitions. Tom was a passionate drummer and percussionist and was well-known and cherished in many local bands, theater groups and schools.

In addition to his parents, Tom was also preceded in death by his brother, Denny Montgomery. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Rudi K. Montgomery; son, Erik Montgomery; daughter, Kerri (Joe VanderHorst) Montgomery; grandchildren, Monty and Veda VanderHorst; siblings, Kathy (Terry) Kane, Susan (Frank) Kohli and Joe (Sandy) Montgomery and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests, Sunday, May 5, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at, Newcomer - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Monday, May 6, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Maumee, OH.

Memorial contributions may be made to 3B Productions Theatre Group, The American Red Cross or the Maumee Community Band in Tom 's memory.
