Thomas H. Franklin

February 16, 1946 — July 30, 2025

Toledo, Ohio

Thomas H. Franklin, affectionately known as Tom, was born on February 16, 1946, in Toledo, Ohio, and he passed away on July 30, 2025, also in Toledo. He lived a life characterized by dedication, humor, and generosity, touching the lives of many who had the privilege of knowing him.

Tom was employed at Ohio Bell as an installer, a role he held with commitment until his retirement. His work ethic extended beyond his professional life; he was known as a hard worker who was always there to lend a hand to others. He was a member of the VFW Post 2898 for 20 years, reflecting his commitment to service—a trait evident during his four years in the U.S. Navy.

Thomas graduated from Whitmer High School, joining the class of 1964. Throughout his life, he maintained a vibrant and humorous personality. Colleagues, family, and friends remember him as one of a kind—a loyal friend who would help anyone he could. His generosity was remarkable; he actively donated to many charities, embodying a spirit of giving that resonated with all who knew him.

In addition to his career, Tom had varied interests that included coaching softball for many years and enjoying camping trips. He was also passionate about weight lifting and shared a love for beer with friends. His zest for life and wonderful sense of humor made him a cherished figure in the community.

Tom's family was his proudest accomplishment and his world revolved around them. He was married to his devoted wife, Jenny Franklin, for an impressive 54 years. Together, they raised three children: Jason (Leigh) Lowe, Christa Weible, and Jeff Franklin. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Darren, Hailee, Reese, Kyle, Ashley, and Morgan. Tom is also survived by his loving sisters, Janice Sawyer and Sue Morris, and his close friends Patrick (Patricia) D'Amato, along with a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Frieda Franklin, his son Keith Franklin, his brother Mickey Saba and his son in law Dan Weible.
