Theodore Andre "Teddy" Castillo

Our miracle baby boy Theodore "Teddy" Andre Castillo born on February 14, 2025, at 28 weeks went to be with the Lord on June 23, 2025 at 4 months and 9 days in his Daddy's arms. He was very inquisitive and paid attention to what was going on. His big brown eyes felt like he could see you for you. The gentle look he gave melted your heart and made you feel happy when in his presence. He only got to live in rooms 369 and 372 at the Toledo Children's Hospital NICU.

Teddy definitely melted the heart of all the doctors, nurses and respiratory therapists. His primary nurses, Katie and Amanda, were his day/night time main nurses. Katie had him from 8 days old till his very last day. He would give her many side eyes, then smiles right after the side eyes, and at times make sure she got her steps in. She was his nurse and "Auntie Katie" as we would tell him. His nighttime nurse, Amanda, got to be with him the last month and also his last moments of life. He also made her get her steps in and would make her come in just to talk since he was bored. They were both simply amazing and Teddy definitely was their sour patch NICU baby.

Teddy's respiratory therapists, Chalynn and Tara, were the go to RTs. He absolutely loved Tara and was super sweet to her, but he would test Chalynn at night and would make her spend hours with him, and could make her melt just by looking at her with his big bright eyes. We can't thank the staff at Toledo Children Hospital NICU enough for all the care you gave Teddy.

Teddy was know as the trouble maker on the NICU floor, but still melted the hearts of the staff. He loved sucking on his replogle, pulling out his replogle, covering himself up at every diaper change, getting mad when anyone would touch him while sleeping, make his alarms go off just so his nurses could come say hi and also known for his side eye.

He had the biggest brown eyes that would make you melt. If you did something he didn't like, then you were getting the side eye. He loved his Mommy's touch and his Daddy's voice. At times the only thing that would calm him down is his Daddy and Mommy's touch/voice. His nicknames were Teddy-Saurus, Teddy Bear, Mr.Valentine, Cheeky Monster and Trouble Maker. He touched the lives of many in the short 4 months he had on Earth. He will definitely be missed and remembered.

He is survived by his Mom and Dad, David and Catherine (Smith) Castillo. He is preceded in death by Great Grandpa, William Keim and Papaw, Billy Hamblin; and Great Grandma, Mary Keim.

Family and friends will be received at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo on Sunday. June 29, 2025 from 12:00 pm -1:00 pm. The service will follow visitation at 1:00 pm. The service will be live-streamed for those unable to come. Following is a wake at 2:30 pm at the 14th Ward (Oldtime Ballplayers Club) 2404 Airport Hwy., Toledo.
