Tammie L. Konwin, age 62, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 10, 1963, in Toledo, Tammie was a devoted mother, sister, and friend, whose warmth and joy enriched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Throughout her life, Tammie dedicated herself to making a positive impact in her community. For many years, she served as a paraprofessional in Sylvania Schools, particularly at Stranahan Elementary School, where her passion for education shone brightly as she helped countless students to learn, grow, and thrive. Her unwavering dedication to fostering young minds was a testament to her nurturing spirit and her deep commitment to the future of her community.
In her personal time, Tammie found immense joy in playing recreational tennis and cherished long walks with family and friends in the serene surroundings of Wildwood. These simple pleasures were not only a source of relaxation for her but also reflected her grounded nature and the connections she valued deeply.
Tammie is survived by her beloved children, son Daniel (Becky) Konwin and daughter Christine (David) Reiersen, as well as her loving son-in-law David Farnham. She was a proud grandmother to Annalyssa, Willa-Mae, Ava, David, Ethan, and Jonathan, all of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life. She leaves behind her brothers, Duane (Cindy) Bartolet, Garry (Karen) Bartolet, Alan Bancroft (Brenda), and sisters, Debbie Farley Mutter (Wes), Laurie Bancroft, Terrie Marsh, Virginia Jude (Richard), and many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. Tammie's kindness and spirit will be profoundly missed by everyone who knew her.
Preceding Tammie in death were her beloved mother, Glenna Jean Bancroft; her father, James Robert Bancroft; her brothers, Troy Bartolet and Jimmy Bancroft; and her sister, Sandy Mankowski. Tammie was married to Ken Konwin and Mark Varner, both of whom she later divorced. She was also preceded in death by her longtime boyfriend, Tim Beaver.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 3655 King Road in Toledo, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM on July 24, 2025. A brief funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM to celebrate Tammie's life.
Tammie’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her, as a reminder of her kindness, dedication, and the joy she brought into the world.
