Tamara Ann Cooley

Tamara Ann Cooley, age 61, of Hillsdale, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Hillsdale Hospital following a three-year battle with cancer. She was born on September 3, 1964, in Adrian, to Allan and Linda (Ondrovick) Seegert. Tamara married Bill “Boomer” Cooley on January 19, 1999, and he survives.

Tamara was formerly employed as a registered nurse at Toledo Hospital. After she and Boomer relocated to Florida, Tamara continued to work as a registered nurse in Panama City Beach and later for Tampa General as an emergency room charge nurse. She continued her education receiving a masters degree in nursing education, training many special forces, and teaching at small colleges in Florida. Tamara loved spending time at the family cottage on Bear Lake in Hillsdale, affectionately known to her family as “Her Happy Place”. She loved spending time with friends and family at the lake, boating on the pontoon, and caring for their beloved dog, Buddy.

In addition to her husband, Boomer Cooley, Tamara is survived by one son, Tyson (Jess) Powell of Cody, Wyoming; three grandchildren, Harmony, Tamara Camille, and Noah; her mother, Linda Snover of Florida; three siblings, Christopher (Shelly) Seegert of Adrian, Angela (Tom) Harmon of Ludington, and Cindy (Mike) Pelton of Delta, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Tamara (Darren) Fellows; and several nieces and nephews.

Tamara was preceded in death by her father, Allan Seegert; her stepfather, Thomas Snover; and one brother-in-law, Ben Cooley.

A celebration of life for Tamara Cooley will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Chapel Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, Ohio 43614 on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 1:00 pm-4:00 pm with a celebration of life at 4:00 pm.
