Susan "Sis" Boyle, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, peacefully departed this world on December 14, 2025, in her hometown of Toledo, Ohio. Born on January 31, 1949, as Susan Ulch, she touched the lives of all who knew her with her warmth, creativity, and unwavering love for her family.
Throughout her life, Sue embraced the roles she cherished the most: that of a dedicated wife to her late husband, Michael Boyle, and a nurturing mother to her three children, Tracey (Joel) Berger, Sheila Boyle, and Daniel Boyle. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Corey Boyle, Branden Amrhein, Kara Hatfield, Zachary Boyle, Cole (Corina) Matuszynski, and Hailee Schultz, as well as four great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Sue's family was her world, and she loved them fiercely, always ensuring they felt wrapped in her affection.
Sue attended DeVilibiss High School, where she likely began cultivating her creative spirit that would come to define her. A true social butterfly, she enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, from crafting and sewing to savoring a good Butterfinger. Her home was infused with the beauty of her creations, from ceramics made with her kiln to exquisite flower arrangements for weddings and events. Sue's talent was limitless; she transformed her basement into a magical craft cave, a sanctuary where she poured her heart into everything she made.
Her adventurous spirit found joy in bowling, solving puzzles, and her cherished Shih Tzus. She had a natural gift for connecting with children, always engaging their imaginations and inspiring their creativity. Known for her lovingly stubborn nature and deeply caring heart, Sue was the rock of her family—a strong-willed individual who offered her home as a safe haven for others in need.
Throughout her life, she created countless memories at the majestic oak winery, where her laughter echoed amid family gatherings. Her kindness and willingness to be there for everyone, regardless of the situation, left a lasting impression on many lives.
Sue was predeceased by her beloved mother, Alice Jean Perry; father, George Ulch; and grandson, Dustin Cataline. While her physical presence will be missed dearly, her spirit continues to live on in the many loving family members and lifelong friends she has left behind.
Visitation will be held on December 22, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, West Sylvania, in Toledo. A funeral service will follow on December 23, 2025, at 1:30 PM, also at the Newcomer Funeral Home, leading to her burial at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park at 2:30 PM.
We honor the life of Susan "Sis" Boyle, reflecting on the love she shared freely and the memories that will forever remain sewn into the fabric of her family. She will be lovingly remembered as the heart of their lives, a creative soul who genuinely lived and loved with all her heart.
