Surjeet Singh, born April 7, 1957, in Punjab, India, passed away peacefully at home in Holland, Ohio, on July 26, 2026, surrounded by the love he so freely gave and inspired.

Surjeet’s journey began on the sun-warmed fields of Punjab, where his roots in family, tradition, and community were firmly planted. From those early days, Surjeet was recognized for his big heart, an unflagging sense of kindness, and a generosity that knew no bounds. Anyone who knew him felt the warmth of his presence—a gentle positivity that transformed ordinary moments into memories cherished by all who shared them.

A proud and spiritual man who held his Punjabi heritage close, Surjeet embraced all facets of life with genuine joy. He was truly an amazing human being, defined as much by his devotion to family as the sparkling energy that accompanied him wherever he went. Surjeet was not only a loving father, husband, brother, and son, but also a friend to many, remembered for the good cheer of his laughter and the sincerity of his words.

Surjeet’s life was marked by remarkable accomplishments and joyful pursuits. For many years, he owned several restaurants—a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and unshakable work ethic. Restaurants were not only his livelihood but extensions of his home, places where he welcomed friends new and old, always sharing delicious food and heartfelt conversation. He became especially known among family and friends for his incredible chicken dishes, seasoned not just with spices, but with love.

His passion for cooking was rivaled only by his love of water and the beach; those closest to Surjeet will remember sunlit afternoons spent beside the waves, and the serenity he found in those moments. He took great pleasure in annual trips to Montreal and California to visit family, each visit reinforcing the unbreakable bonds of love and belonging that defined his world.

Surjeet had a flair for life—he enjoyed dressing well, collecting watches, and wasn’t shy about snapping selfies that captured his mischievous smile and infectious zest. He was a huge flirt whose charm brought laughter and appreciation from everyone he met. Among his treats was the simple pleasure of eating souvlaki—a small joy, yet a meaningful thread in the tapestry of his life. He poured equal adoration into caring for the family dogs, finding companionship and comfort in their presence.

At the heart of Surjeet’s world was his beloved family. Surviving him with deep love is his devoted wife, Jaspreet Kaur. His children, Manjeet (Michelle) Singh, Jaswinder (Naomi) Singh, and Sarbjeet Kaur, feel the immense loss of a father whose pride in them shone brightly every day. He is also survived by 7 cherished grandchildren, his step-mother, Nirmal Kaur, his 5 brother and 1 sister, and many dear cousins, all of whom carry forward his legacy of compassion and joy.

Surjeet’s memory is joined with those he loved and missed dearly—his father Harnam Singh, mother Jaswant Kaur, and brother Amarjit Singh Arora, all of whom preceded him in death.

Surjeet Singh leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, genuine connection, and proud cultural heritage. He touched many lives, not just through the warmth of his family table or the laughter echoing around him, but in every act of love, every story told, and every smile shared. His spirit endures in the hearts of those who had the honor of knowing him, a lasting reminder of a remarkable man who gave so freely his love and light.

Details of services to celebrate Surjeet’s extraordinary life will be shared with friends and family on Monday, August 3, 2026 at Noon at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3655 King Rd, Toledo. 

His memory will remain evergreen, carried on through stories, traditions, and the boundless love he fostered throughout a life well-lived.
