Sue Woodward

Janie Sue Woodward, age 83, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2026. She joins her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Born on May 18, 1943, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Sue was the cherished daughter of Bruce and Jane Bailey.

Sue attended Scott High School in Toledo and completed her education at Bedford High School, earning her diploma in her thirties through dedicated night classes. Her life was devoted to being a "Domestic Engineer," focusing her love and attention on raising her two children, Jim and Beth.

A dedicated participant in the Ohio Lottery, Sue had a passion for family lunches and loved showering her grandchildren with affection and sweet treats before dinner. Her family was her greatest joy.

Sue's legacy of love continues with her husband of nearly 65 years, George Woodward; her children, James (Anna) Woodward and Elizabeth (Ken) Farkas; her sister, Anne (Ronnie) Adams; seven grandchildren, Nicholas (Becca), Adam (Kerry), Ashley (Derek), Katie (Joe), Chris, Danny (Janelle), and Kyle (Katherine); and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Jr. (Joyce) Bailey, Sue leaves behind a family rich with memories and blessings.

Friends may visit on Saturday, August 22, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio and her funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with burial at Toledo Memorial Park.
