She was also preceded in death by her beloved siblings: Frances Burmeister (Ted), Gladys Foley (Arthur), Edna Macheski (Butch), Lucy Sammis (Ted), Josephine Wohlers (Dale), Mary White (Al), and two infant brothers, John and Donald.
Throughout her life, Sue was deeply committed to her family and her community. She proudly served as a mother to Rebecca Lober (who is mourning the loss of her husband, William), and Craig Lange (who is also grieving his wife, Jenny). She was a cherished grandmother to Andrew Lange (Lindsey), Chad Lange (Miranda), Jayme Lange (Zachary), and Stephen Lober, who will carry forward her spirit of kindness and generosity. Her proudest accomplishments included graduating from Libbey High School, where she maintained lifelong connections with her classmates, and dedicating her career to nursing. After earning her LPN certification, Sue worked the night shift at Mercy Hospital, eventually obtaining her RN degree and serving as a charge nurse on the endocrine, metabolic, and diabetic unit until her retirement. She continued her commitment to healthcare by working with doctors in a private practice and volunteering as an ombudsman in local nursing homes for twelve years.
Her community involvement further extended to ministering to shut-ins and providing communion at Bethel Lutheran Church. As a foster parent for Lutheran Social Services, Sue cared for newborns until they found loving homes, showcasing her unwavering compassion for others.
Sue's hobbies reflected her vibrant spirit and passion for life. She found joy in sewing, knitting, cooking and baking for her family and friends, as well as engaging in crossword puzzles, reading, gardening, and traveling to places such as Hawaii, Arizona, the Bahamas, Georgia, and Florida. A longtime sports enthusiast, she was not only a dedicated "Brownie" leader and baseball mom but also a fervent supporter of The Ohio State Buckeyes. Sue also enjoyed bowling and participated in leagues throughout her life. In her retirement, she took up golf, played on a women’s league, and volunteered at prestigious tournaments, including the Masters in Augusta.
Music was a central part of her life, with her fondness for attending concerts and playing Tchaikovsky at full volume embodying her lively character. Sue treasured moments spent dining, watching movies, attending plays and seminars, and sharing laughter with her cherished friends.
Sue C. Lange's enduring legacy is one of love, faith, and service. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and her impact will continue to resonate through her family and community.
