Steven R. Reed, known affectionately as Steve, passed away on December 26, 2025, in Toledo, Ohio, at the age of 65. Born on January 15, 1960, in Toledo, he grew up to be a vibrant member of the community, embodying a spirit of generosity and humor that touched the lives of many.
A proud graduate of Whitmer High School, class of 1978, Steve embarked on a successful career that began as a welder at Jeep. After several years of dedicated service, he transitioned to Libby Glass, where he worked as a machine operator until his retirement. His work ethic and commitment to his job were hallmarks of his character, illustrating the determination and strength he possessed throughout his life.
Steve's interests and personality were as colorful as his career. A true jokester at heart, he brought laughter to gatherings and was well-known for his generous hospitality whenever friends and family came to visit. He had a passion for music, immersing himself in melodies from dawn until dusk, often accompanied by his favorite drink and cigarettes', Nattie Ice and Pyramid Reds. Steve was also an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, exemplifying loyalty both to his team and his loved ones.
One of Steve’s most cherished joys was camping with his son, Chandler, creating lasting memories in the great outdoors. Although Chandler has preceded him in death, their shared experiences continue to resonate deeply within his family.
Reflecting on Steve's personal life, he is survived by several beloved family members, including his father, Ralph "Bud" Reed; his sisters, Debbie Sharp (and husband Rod), Becky Bates (and partner Shelly), and Ann Warner (and husband Mike); as well as his brother, Rich Reed (and wife Chris). Steve was also the ex-spouse of Angie Reed and leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will remember him fondly.
Preceding Steve in death are his dear mother, Sandy Reed; his son, Chandler Reed; and his brother, Glenn Reed.
Steve's legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will remain in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we remember him, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by the joy he brought into our lives and the unforgettable memories he created.
