Steven M. Buczko, a devoted and compassionate figure whose warmth touched the lives of many, passed away on May 5, 2026, in his hometown of Toledo, Ohio. Born on October 3, 1959, Steven’s journey began in the very community he would come to cherish and enrich with his kindness and steadfast spirit.
A graduate of Waite High School in 1977, Steven furthered his education by completing medical coding training at Stautezenberger College. For over two decades, he dedicated himself to a career as a retail manager, proudly serving various retail stores with unwavering commitment. Those who knew Steven will remember him not only for his professional dedication but for the loving and firm guidance he brought into every aspect of his life, he ran a tight ship, yet one embodied with love and care.
Steven was a man of great heart and unshakeable loyalty and faith. He was renowned for being there for everyone, no matter the circumstances, always ready to turn troubles into laughter with his unbeatable sense of humor. He had a unique gift for dissolving problems and easing burdens, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and light that will be remembered fondly by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Outside of work, Steven found joy and peace in the simple yet profound pleasures of fishing and gardening. These hobbies reflected his calm and nurturing nature a man who tended to his surroundings with patience and love, much as he did to those dearest to him.
His proudest accomplishments were deeply personal: his beloved daughter Crystal, his loving relationship with his partner, David and the home they created together. Steven’s heart also swelled with pride for his cherished grandchildren, Ashlynn and Lexi, who brought immeasurable joy to his life.
Steven M. Buczko’s life was a testament to compassion, resilience, and love. He was deeply loved and dearly will be missed, leaving an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew him. May his memory be a blessing and a source of comfort for years to come.
Steve is survived by his loving partner of 38 years, David Cervellino: daughter Crystal (Nate) Giles: siblings, Fred (Sarina) Buczko, Michael (Debbie) Buczko, Gary (Lonnie) Buczko, and Dawn (Daniel) St. John; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many dear friends, and his faithful canine companions, Buddy and Precious, who were a source of comfort and love in his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Lou and Stephen Buczko; grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Fred Knous and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Buczko, and other relatives.
Family, friends, and all who loved Steven are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of his life at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest Toledo, located at 4150 W Laskey Rd, Toledo, (419-473-0300) where visitation will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 4:00 - 8:00 PM, and Wednesday, May 13 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM. Internment to follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
