Steve Pastrikos, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on June 24, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on December 15, 1945, in Sudan, Africa, Steve was a man whose life was characterized by boundless generosity, warmth, and an outgoing spirit that endeared him to all who knew him.
Steve dedicated 27 years of his life to the Doehler-Jarvis Company, where he worked diligently as a factory worker until his well-deserved retirement. His strong work ethic was a testament to his character, one which he carried into every aspect of his life, including his devotion to family.
A proud husband to Sotiria Pastrikos, with whom he shared 46 wonderful years of marriage, Steve embraced family life as one of his greatest joys. His legacy lives on through their children: John, Stratos, and Terry, whom he cherished deeply. His grandchildren, Steven, Braxton, and Alexander, brought him immense pride and happiness. As a loving uncle and godfather, he also held a special place in the life of his nephew Emmanuel Melas.
Steve’s adventurous spirit saw him relocate from Greece to Florida and eventually to Toledo, Ohio, where he continued to forge lasting memories with his loved ones. He had a passion for life’s simple pleasures, often found enjoying Sunday family dinners, cheering on his favorite basketball teams, and spending time with friends at the casino.
Though faced with losses, including his parents, John and Fotini Pastrikos, and his brother, John Melas, Steve’s heart remained filled with love for those around him. His capacity for connection and laughter will be dearly missed by a host of extended family and friends, all of whom were touched by his kindness and exuberance for life.
As we remember Steve Pastrikos, we celebrate a life that was rich with love, laughter, and a commitment to family that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. His presence will be felt in the stories shared, the laughter echoed, and the love that he cultivated throughout his journey.
