Shirley A. Wood of Sylvania, Ohio died at home, November 14, 2023, peacefully surrounded by her family at the age of 88.
She was born September 11, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late William and Helen (Garb) Stanish.
Shirley graduated from Libbey High School, class of 1953. She retired in 1998 after 30 dedicated hard-working years at Libbey Owens Ford downtown headquarters.
Shirley's smile and love will forever be missed by those who knew her. This isn't goodbye, but we will see you again!
Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving husband of 68 years, William Wood, whom she married on June 2, 1956; three daughters, Linda Patterson, Julie (Mark) Funk, Sallie (Rob) Jankowski; grandchildren, Gregory Patterson (Tami), Nicole (Marc) Young, Amanda (Brock) Rieger, Eric (Tracy) Funk, Danielle Jankowski (Marlon), Rob (Stacy) Jankowski; seventeen great grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rick and Cindy Wood.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Michael Patterson.
Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623, on Sunday, November 19, 2023, from 11:00 am until the time of her memorial service at 3:00 pm.
