Shirley Mary (Cousino) Rochowiak

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley Mary (Cousino) Rochowiak, who left us peacefully, at home with her daughters, on April 5, 2026, at the age of 90. Shirley was born in Monroe, Michigan, on January 4, 1936, and spent most of her childhood in LaSalle, Michigan. She married Lawrence Rochowiak on February 11, 1956, and together they raised a family in Temperance, Michigan. After some retirement years on the road in their motorhome, they settled in Rosharon, Texas. Shirley relocated to Swanton, Ohio in 2015.

Shirley was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her daughters, Nita (Galen) Schwartz, Debbie Couture, and Lynn (Tom) Carter; her brother, Ken (Donna) Cousino; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Trouten; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Dru, and Brian Schwartz, Dawn (Mike) Oski, Dennis (Hannah) Couture, Joe (Jessica) and Scott Carter; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Lawrence, and brother, Lavern.

Shirley was known for her warmth, generosity, and kindness. She was a friend to all who knew her, and a favorite aunt or cousin to many. Her family was her pride and joy, and she touched the lives of so many with her loving spirit.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony's Church pending; immediately followed by burial at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Richfield Volunteer Fire Department. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the Ohio Living Hospice team who provided exceptional care to Shirley since November 2025.
