Sharon Kay Wells

Sharon Kay Wells, age 82, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 20, 2025. Born in Michigan City, Indiana, on April 29, 1943, to Johnnie and Anita (Volk) Wiedenhoft. Sharon was a proud graduate of Whitmer High School, Class of 1963.

She dedicated over 35 years of service to O & S Construction, where she built a respected career before retiring.

Sharon was a devoted member of Aldersgate Methodist Church and served as a past President of the YMCA Silver Sneakers program in Toledo. Her passion for bowling led her to participate in numerous leagues throughout the years, and she cherished the camaraderie and competition they brought. Sharon also loved to crochet and was known for crocheting hats and blankets that she donated to the area hospital NICU's. Above all, Sharon loved spending time with her family and friends. Her warmth, humor, and generosity touched the lives of many.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, James E. Fincher, Sr., Dennis Reed, and Kenneth Wells; and her sisters, Faye Keller-Thrash and Janis Turner.

Sharon is survived by her loving children: Kenneth (Trina) Fincher, James E. Fincher, Jr., Kathleen (David) Reed-Williams, and Susan (Robert, Sr.) Pereksta; her sister, Connie (Harold) Gordon; grandchildren: Patrick Fincher, Nicholaus Fincher, Steven Reed, Tyler (Tabitha) Vermett, Katelynn (Evan) Soto, Gary Wells, and Megan (Chris) Nobles; great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Waylynn, Ethan, Kylie, Maddi, Houston, and Rivers; her dear friend, Annie Dawson and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Those wishing to honor Sharon’s memory are invited to make a memorial contribution to the Kidney Foundation, the American Diabetes Association, or Aldersgate Methodist Church.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date at Aldersgate Church, 4030 Douglas Rd. Toledo, Ohio 43613.
