Sharon Dunbar

December 2, 1946 — August 3, 2025

Toledo, OH

Sharon Dunbar, a cherished daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, in her beloved Toledo, Ohio, at the age of 78. Born on December 2, 1946, Sharon was a vibrant soul whose life was defined by love and loyalty, making a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

As a proud graduate of Bedford High School, Sharon embarked on a career as a Pharmacy Technician at AmeriSource, where she touched the lives of many with her warm spirit and unwavering dedication. However, her most significant role was that of a devoted mother and grandmother. Fiercely loyal to her family and those she loved, she embodied the essence of a "Mama Bear," always ready to protect and support her children and grandchildren at a moment's notice. Her home was a sanctuary filled with laughter, warmth, and the joy of togetherness, where her beautiful family made countless memories.

A woman of strong convictions and a lovingly stubborn nature, Sharon stood steadfastly by the side of those she cared for, ensuring that they never felt alone. Her kindness, generosity, and warmth enveloped all who entered her life, leaving a lasting impression on her family and friends alike.

Throughout her life, Sharon found immense joy in the simple pleasures, such as playing cards and games with family, which brought her happiness and connection. She was devoted to her faith and actively participated in her church community, attending Bible studies, Joy Club, and Vacation Bible School, which reflected her unwavering commitment to her beliefs and her desire to spread joy and kindness.

Sharon’s life was enriched by the love she had for her children: daughter Brandy (Jerry) Chesson, sons Kevin (Wendy) Dunbar, Bryan (Vikki) Dunbar, and Matthew (Annette) Dunbar, and the late Craig Michael Dunbar. Her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren: Ashley, Christina, Jacob, Jacob, Liam, Emily, Kristopher, Katelyn, and Levi, each of whom carries a piece of her spirit in their hearts.

Sharon is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, John Dunbar, and her son, Craig Michael Dunbar, along with her cherished parents, Sarah Powell (nee Austin) and Fred Fidell. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her fierce love and devotion will forever resonate in the lives of those who were lucky enough to know her.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Sharon's church, Faith Baptist Church, 6245 Whiteford Center Rd., Lambertville, MI 48161, in honor of her life.

As we remember Sharon Dunbar, let us celebrate a life well-lived, a spirit that was warm and giving, and a legacy marked by unconditional love for family and friends. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
