With hearts full of love and eyes full of tears, we share the passing of Scott Gaynor,
He was our everything. A husband who loved deeply, a father who gave his all, a friend who never failed to show up, and the kind of man who made the world a better place — just by being in it.
To say he was one of the good ones doesn’t even come close.
He was one of the great ones.
The rare kind — honest, loyal, steady, kind — the kind you’re lucky to meet once in a lifetime.
Scott loved life in the way only someone with a big heart truly can. He found joy in the simple things — riding his Harley down an open road, weekends at the lake with family and friends, a good game of pool, the pride of a well-kept yard, and Sundays filled with football — cheering (and sometimes yelling) for his beloved Michigan Wolverines and his Pittsburgh Steelers.
But no joy compared to the love he had for his family.
He adored his wife, Jennifer, with every piece of his heart. Theirs was a love built on laughter, loyalty, and years of memories — a love you could feel just by watching the way he looked at her. She was his world, and he made sure she knew it every day.
His children were his pride and his purpose. He beamed when he talked about them — not just proud of what they’d done, but of who they are. He was their biggest fan, their protector, their example of what it means to be strong, kind, and good. He raised them not only with his words, but with his actions — and the love he gave them will live on in their hearts forever.
He also had a special bond with his two fur babies, Oakley and Chevy. They were more than pets — they were family. His shadows, his comfort, his loyal companions.
Scott had a work ethic like no other. He gave 100% in everything he did — not for recognition, but because that’s just who he was. If someone needed help, he didn’t hesitate. He didn’t wait to be asked. He just showed up — tools in hand, heart wide open.
He didn’t need to be the loudest in the room to make an impact. His strength was in his presence. His love was in the details — the quiet support, the thoughtful gesture, the knowing smile. He didn’t just love his people — he took care of them. Fiercely. Constantly. Without ever asking for anything in return.
He leaves behind his loving wife Jennifer, his beloved children Brenden (Karissa), Makenzie, Blake, Jordan his loyal dogs Oakley and Chevy. He also leaves his loving mother Jackie Beach, sister Jacquelynn Cook, father in law, John Bopery, sister in law, Nicole (Brian) Bopery, brother in law Chris (Heather) Bopery, many loving nephews and nieces and a world full of people forever better for having known him.
He was preceded in death by his mother in law, Joyce Bopery.
We will gather on Aug. 2nd from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm, with a Sharing of Memories beginning at 1:30 pm, at Newcomer Funeral Home to celebrate the incredible life of a man who meant so much to so many. We will cry. We will laugh. We will share stories. And we will carry his love with us, always.
The world feels a little dimmer without him. But the love he gave — the lessons he taught, the strength he showed, and the memories he gave us — will never fade.
Ride free, my love. We’ll see you again down the road. Until then, we’ll carry your heart in everything we do.
