Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, San Juanita “Janie” Caster age 75, of Toledo, Ohio gained her wings to heaven on August 24, 2025. She was born in Adrian, MI to Aurora Barron on September 4, 1949. Janie graduated from Anthony Wayne High School, class of 1967.
After high school, she went on and met the love of her life on a blind date, William Caster. After William came home from the Vietnam War, the two married in April 1969 and never left each other’s side for 56 years.
Juanita’s favorite things to do was spending time with her children and grandchildren, cooking and watching her favorite TV shows, and attending church at Immaculate Conception on Sundays. Juanita will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, resilience, patience, her strength and humor, and was a women who never complained.
She is survived by her husband, William Caster Sr.; her sons, William (Alanna) Jr., Raymond Caster and daughter, Christina (Victor) Oliver; her grandchildren, Rebecca, Jaden, Marisa, Mickey and Tana; great-grandchildren, Damien and Bailey; brothers, Ernesto and Braulio; and sister, Teresa and countless nieces and nephews. Janie was preceded in death by her mother, Aurora Barron; sisters, Isabel and Severa; brother, Ignacio Sr. and her beloved son, Tommy.
Family and friends will be received at the Newcomer Funeral Home (Southwest Chapel), 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 2:00-8:00 PM with sharing of memories at 6:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 434 Eastern Ave., Toledo. Interment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery, Perrysburg, Ohio.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Juanita's granddaughter, Rebecca who offered support and kindness during her final days, by never leaving her side. We would also like to thank the doctors and nurses of St. Anne's for their exceptional care.
