Sam Mihailoff

Sam Mihailoff, age 86, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully, in his home, surrounded by his loving wife and family on December 19, 2023. Sam was born January 7, 1937, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late, Sava and Myrtle (Alford) Mihailoff.

Sam graduated from Macomber High School and continued his education at the University of Toledo. He was a detective Sergeant with the Toledo Police Department for 25 years, where he retired. Following retirement, he worked for Culligan in Findlay, Ohio.

Sam's love and smile will forever be missed by those who knew him. This isn't goodbye, but we will see you again!

Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving wife of 67 years, Joanne (Doering) Mihailoff; four daughters, Debra Mann, Tami (Tim) Kubiak, Mindy (Art) Schroeder, and Sally (Paul) Napierala; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by one sister; three brothers; and a son-in-law, Mike Mann.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the attentive care, love, and support they provided to Sam.

Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623, on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 11:00 am. Following the service, Sam will be laid to rest at Toledo Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sam's name to the Toledo Humane Society or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
