Sallie L. Krebs

Sallie L. Krebs, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, in Sylvania Township, Ohio, at the age of 88. Born on March 23, 1937, in Toledo, Ohio, Sallie’s life was rich with creativity, love, and the joy of sharing beauty with those around her.

Sallie was preceded in death by her husband, Donald "Sam" Krebs, her parents, Stephen and Margaret Ceglarski, and her sister, Barbara (Frank) Matlow. She is survived by her loving children, Michele (Glen), Lesley (Joseph), and Mark (Tracie), her cherished grandchildren, Sarah (David) and Cory, and her sister, Joyce Savage.

Throughout her life, Sallie showcased her exceptional talent in interior design, often assisting friends and family in transforming their homes with her keen eye for style. Her Christmas trees were legendary, rivaling the most extravagant displays found in department stores, and she delighted in hosting family gatherings, especially during the holiday season. Sallie had a passion for gardening and planting flowers that turned her surroundings into vibrant displays of nature's beauty.

An avid fan of college football, Sallie passionately supported Ohio State and held a special place in her heart for Notre Dame. Her love for animals, particularly cats, brought her immense joy and companionship. Sallie’s adventurous spirit led her to travel across Europe, where she explored various destinations, including her ancestral home in Poland, but Barcelona, Spain, remained her favorite.

Among her proudest accomplishments, Sallie was not only an excellent ballroom dancer but also a dedicated instructor who inspired many with her passion for dance. Later in life, she became a certified Silver Sneakers instructor, further enriching the lives of others through her commitment to fitness and health.

A memorial gathering will be held on December 28, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 1:30 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest Toledo, located at 4150 W Laskey Rd, Toledo, OH 43623.

Sallie L. Krebs will be remembered for her profound impact on the lives she touched and her spirit of generosity and love. Her legacy will continue to thrive in the hearts of her family and friends.
