Ruth Ann Smith

Ruth Ann Smith of Maumee, Ohio passed away on Sunday March 24, 2024 at Promedica Flower Hospital after a long battle with Pulmonary Hypertension. She is the widow of William A. Smith. They were married for over 40 years before his death in November 2017.

Ruth Ann was born on March 12, 1947 to Ruth E. (Becker) Tucholska. Her father, Edward P. Tucholska, passed away suddenly approximately 3 months before her birth. She graduated from Waite High School in 1965. Ruth Ann had excellent work ethics and worked all her life with two of her longest employers being Kelly's IGA in Maumee and Penta Career Center in Rossford.

She is survived by her daughters Rebecca A. (Corey) Cole and Tracy L. (Gene) Boros, grandchildren Helena R. Boros, Bailey A. Cole and Noah R. Cole. She is also survived by her siblings Duane Huston and Linda Draeger, and her cousin Patricia A. Ramey as well as several other cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Pauline J. Kinor in 2002.

Ruth Ann has been a disciple of Christ for nearly 45 years and was an active member of the church for many, many years. She loved to teach Bible studies and lead small groups and even obtained her local minister's license. She loved to spend time with her family at holidays, vacations and family game nights. She was a gifted artist and gardener for many, many years as well.

The funeral service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (Southwest Chapel) Toledo, OH 43614 on Tuesday April 2, 2024 with visitation hours between 11 am and 1 pm. Pastor David Rison will officiate the funeral service at 1 pm. A funeral procession to Toledo Memorial Park will occur immediately after the service.
