Ruth Ann Beach

Ruth A. (Biggs) Beach, age 97, formerly of South Toledo, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at the Lakes of Monclova surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 16, 1928 to Hal and Elsie (Heuer) Biggs. She was a 1946 graduate of Libbey High School. Ruth married William Beach on August 28, 1947 and he predeceased her.

Ruth was a stay-at-home mom for many years before entering the workforce as a playground aide and retired as a food service worker, both for Toledo Public Schools. She was a longtime member of St. Petri Lutheran Church where she was active in the senior choir, played piano for Sunday School and served on the church council. She also served many years as a poll worker for the Lucas County Board of Elections and as a Girl Scout leader. As a graduate of Libbey, she served on her reunion committee and attended lunches with the Libbey lunch bunch.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Judith (Bruce) Mead, Sue (Larry) Mead, Peggy (Ken) Kissling, Carrie (Carl) George and son, Robert Beach; grandchildren, Jonathan (Jill) Mead, Sarah (Dwight) Handspike, Michael Mead, Adam Mead, Matthew Mead, Rachel Davis, Kyle (Tomi) Kissling, Renee (Brett) Bardwell, and Jennifer (Mike) Lindsey. She also leaves 18 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and special friend, Kris Beach. In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was predeceased by brothers, Willard Biggs and Herbert Biggs; her daughter and son-in-law, Janet (Jim) Yeager, and grandson Jason George. She was also predeceased by longtime friend and companion, Bill Lehr.

Family and Friends will be received on Friday, July 10, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home (Southwest Chapel), 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The family will also receive guests Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Petri Lutheran Church, 3120 S. Byrne Road, Toledo. Entombment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio and The Lakes of Monclova for their care during her stay. They would also like to give a special thank you to their guardian angel, Tipp.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Petri Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
