Ruth Anna Alsept

Ruth Anna Alsept, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on February 18, 2026, in Toledo, Ohio, at the age of 93. Born on July 19, 1932, in Lakeview, Ohio, Ruth was a woman who exemplified unconditional love and faithfulness throughout her life.

Her children fondly remember her unwavering support. "Whenever you needed her, she was there," they recount, cherishing the countless moments filled with love and devotion. Ruth truly was the best mother one could ask for, a constant source of strength and guidance.

Known for her heart of gold, Ruth adored her kids and grandkids. She delighted in simple pleasures, whether it was playing Bingo or collecting knickknacks that brought joy to her home. Her personality shone brightly, illuminating the lives of those around her with warmth and laughter.

A proud accomplishment in Ruth's life was her commitment to her faith; she dedicated her life to Christ, a guiding spirit in her journey that inspired not just her family but all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Ruth is survived by her loving daughters, Cheryl Moore, Peggy K Sawmiller and her husband Danny, and Peggy Alsept and her husband John Shaughnessy. Her sons, Rubin Alsept and his wife Shelley, and Donald Alsept and his wife Tracey, continue to honor her legacy. The cherished memories of Ruth extend to her numerous grandchildren and extended family and friends, all of whom carry her spirit in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ruth Anna Howell, and her beloved daughters, Barbara Hoffman and Jennifer Alsept. Their memories will undoubtedly intertwine with hers, as her nurturing presence touched so many lives.

Visitation will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home in Southwest Toledo on February 26, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The funeral service will be held the following day, February 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM, concluding at noon.

Ruth Anna Alsept’s boundless love and kindness will be profoundly missed, but her legacy of compassion and devotion lives on through the many lives she touched.
