Russell Petrey Sr.

Russell "Grizz" Petrey Sr. passed away on May 22nd, 2026 at St. Charles hospital surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Jellico, TN on April 27th, 1950.

Russell was an avid dog lover along with being a family man and devoted husband to his wife, Lori. They met in Hawaii and spent 53 wonderful years together. Russell served in the Marines and drove a semi truck for over 30 years. As a patriot, he had a love for the countryside, old western movies, and horses. He lived a full life of adventure and loved to retell his many many tales to his grandchildren. Russell loved to read and share those stories with his children on the road. He is survived by his wife Lori, his son Russell Jr (Lily), honorary son Mike G., and daughter Michelle (Tyson). His siblings Donna, Matt (Annie), and Blenda (Tom). His grandchildren Kelsey, Rochelle (Eric), Gabrielle Brown, Vivian (Chris), Shane, Isabelle (Austyn), Haley, and Emily. Along with 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He will be joining his mother, Betty, his father, Bill, and his siblings Clifford, Billy, Judy, and Gladys, his son-in-law Ed Brown and his beloved dog Mia in the afterlife. While his passing is devastating, he would like everyone to look on and remember him for the life he lived and lives he touched.
