Ronald S. Ohm, beloved father, uncle, and cherished friend, passed away on March 2, 2026, in Sylvania, Ohio, at the age of 87. Born on September 11, 1938, in Rocky Ridge, Ohio, Ronald lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to his faith and family.
For 32 years, Ronald dedicated his career to the Ohio Department of Transportation, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues. He took pride in his work, ensuring that the roads he helped maintain connected families and communities alike. He was active at the East Toledo Senior Activities Center, where he had many friends. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was a true sweetheart known for his warmth, storytelling, and good-natured humor that brought smiles to all who knew him.
Educated at Salem Oak Harbor High School, graduating in the class of 1957, and further honing his understanding of faith at the Lutheran Seminary School of Theology in 1961, Ronald’s commitment to his beliefs was unwavering. He found immense joy in studying scriptures and devoted his life to his church, where he shared his wisdom and kindness with others. His compassionate nature left an indelible mark on everyone around him.
Ronald’s passion for cooking was a delightful aspect of his life.
He is survived by his son, Ronald Sylvester Travis Ohm, and his cherished nephews and nieces, who will carry his spirit forward in their hearts. Ronald joins his beloved wife, Ella E. Ohm, and his dear parents, August F. Ohm and Sadie A. Ohm, in eternal rest.
A visitation to celebrate Ronald's life will take place on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, both at Newcomer Funeral Home in Northwest Toledo, located at 4150 W Laskey Rd, Toledo, OH, 43623. Burial will take place at the Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery immediately following.
Ronald S. Ohm's kind spirit and unwavering faith will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who were privileged to know him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and laughter that will resonate for generations to come. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions be made to St Andrews Episcopal Church.
