Ronald Lee Hileman

February 29, 1944 — July 11, 2025

Erie, Michigan

Ronald Lee Hileman, 81, passed away on July 11, 2025, in Tecumseh, Michigan, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on February 29, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio, Ron was the son of Joe and Dorthy Hileman. He grew up alongside his siblings Sharon Hileman, Marilyn Horn, and Joe Hileman, and graduated from Mason High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Henrietta Marie Hileman, and together they built a life rooted in faith, hard work, and family. She preceded him in death.

Ron was a pattern maker for Toledo Mold and Die and a lifelong farmer. He spent decades living in the home he built in Erie-Temperance, Michigan, where he raised his children and poured his energy into projects both big and small. He had a gift for working with his hands—woodworking, tinkering, fixing, building—and an unwavering belief that there was always one right way to do a job, and to do it well.

More than anything, Ron was known for being a jack of all trades and a man who would show up to help anyone in need. Whether it was a neighbor, a friend, or a family member, he offered his time, tools, and know-how without hesitation.

A devout Christian, Ron was a longtime member of Compelled Church in Temperance, where his faith guided the way he lived, loved, and gave. He was a steady presence in the lives of those who knew him, a man who led quietly by example.

In the years following Henrietta’s passing, Ron was blessed by the companionship of Bonnie McClain, who remained a devoted friend and source of encouragement during the last six years of his life.

Ron is survived by his children Mark, Connie King, and David; his grandchildren Mark Jr., Chris, Ashley, Gabe, Emily, Ethan, Rue, Rubi, Kevin Jr., Kendra, Cassie, Andrew, Charlie, David Jr., Gavin Robert, and Carson; and great-grandchildren Spencer, Sydney, Sadie, Adelyn, Everett, and Milo. His legacy lives on in each of them.
