Ronald Gerald Brooks

Ronald Gerald Brooks, known to many as "Ron B", passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, August 29, 2026. He was born on November 15, 1968, in Toledo, Ohio to Jeanette and John Brooks.

Ron B lived a life grounded in love for his family, pride in his work, and deep loyalty to the people and places that mattered most to him. He worked in a medical plant that specialized in dialysis, contributing to work that touched the lives of others in meaningful ways. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Navy, where he met many comrades who became more than friends to him—they became family.

Family was at the center of Ron B’s life. He was married to his sweetheart, Linda Brooks, for 26 years, though he would happily tell everyone it was 40, since their story began when they were together in high school. That enduring bond was one of the great joys of his life. Ron B was especially proud to be the father of two daughters, Shylinn Brooks and Ronnette Brooks. Being their dad was among his proudest accomplishments. He loved his children deeply, taught them responsibility, and always stood firmly behind them with unwavering support.

Ron B also carried a special connection to New Orleans. He was a fan of the New Orleans Saints and loved New Orleans in general, a place that reflected his roots and held lasting meaning for him.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Brooks; his daughters, Shylinn Brooks and Ronnette Brooks; his mother, Jeanette Brooks; his brother, Arnold (Shonia) Brooks; and numerous extended family members and lifelong friends "The-Fab 5" whose lives were enriched by knowing him. He was preceded in death by his father, John Brooks.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Toledo, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH 43614. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the same location. 

Ron B will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his pride in service, his steady presence, and the love he gave so freely to those closest to him. His memory will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were blessed to call him their own.
