Ronald Boose Sr. At 66, passed away in his home with his wife Pam and family on October 23, 2025. Ronald Boose Sr. was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, and attended Scott High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication.
Ronald was admired for his kind and encouraging words and earned the nickname “Mr. Fix-It” for his remarkable handyman skills. He was always improving and upgrading his home, making it a warm and comfortable place for his family. Ronald worked faithfully at Braden United Methodist Church for about 32 years and at the Wingate Hotel for about 40 years. Ron loved to stay busy — sitting still just wasn’t his thing. He enjoyed being outdoors, working with his hands, and could always find something to fix or improve, even when nothing really needed doing. He took great pride in staying active and keeping his yard looking just right. You could always count on him to be tinkering, trimming, or figuring out how to make something better.
He had a deep love for music, especially anything by Michael Jackson, and his favorite song, “Happy” by Pharrell, could lift his mood no matter what kind of day it was. When he finally did slow down, he liked to relax with old westerns or show off his hidden bowling skills to family and friends. And if he wasn’t at home, you might find him at the junkyard early in the morning, searching for something he could repurpose. You really can’t drive past a Menards without thinking about Dad — always on the lookout for his next project.
He is survived by his six children — Latisha Boose-Manning, Ronald Boose Jr., Ronald Russell Jr., Edward Woods, April Woods, and Shannon Woods — who will carry his love and lessons in their hearts. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. Ronald is also survived by his brothers and sisters — Janice Skelton, Bishop Jerry Boose (Debra), Donald Boose, Darlene Boose, Everzina Henry, Dexter Boose, and Queeny Boose — along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly.
Family and Friends will be received at the Newcomer Funeral Home, (Southwest Chapel) on Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 11:00AM-12:00PM. The funeral service will follow visitation at 12:00PM. Burial will be at the Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
