Robert "Bob" Miller

February 24, 1963 — May 19, 2025

Toledo, Ohio

Robert "Bob" Miller, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on May 19, 2025, in Toledo, Ohio. He was born on February 24, 1963, in Toledo, where he would grow to live a life filled with love, laughter, and joy.

Bob graduated from Springfield High School in 1981, where he displayed his athletic prowess as a member of the track team. His dedication to sports extended beyond high school, serving as a lifelong supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes along with any team competing against the University of Michigan.

Throughout his career, Bob served the community as a manager at Value City, Walmart, Speedway, and Dollar General, showcasing his strong work ethic and leadership skills. He later became disabled but continued to impact the lives of those around him with his vibrant personality.

Family gatherings were a cornerstone of Bob's life. As a husband to Joni Miller, whom he cherished deeply for their 14 years together, and a father to his sons, Rob Miller with his wife Adrienne and Corbin Miller, Bob found immense pride and joy in his family. His grandchildren, Avalynne and Cruze, were two of his proudest accomplishments, and he relished in creating lasting memories with them. Known for his talent on the grill, he was particularly famous for his barbecue chicken, a staple during family cookouts that brought loved ones together.  Bob loved music of all kinds but Rock and Roll was some of his favorite.

Bob was not only a devoted family man but also possessed a remarkable sense of humor with his five year battle with cancer. He loved to tell jokes, display his sarcastic wit, and make silly faces, leaving those around him in laughter. He was a true friend who will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and the unforgettable memories he created.

In addition to his family, Bob is survived by his sisters, Kathy Lyons and Karen Birr; his sister-in-law, Jenni Heyman, and her husband, Lynn; and his beloved dog, Marley. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Miller; his mother, Ann Benson; his grandmother, Mildred Gempel; and his great aunt, Katie Whitmill.

The community invites friends and family to pay their respects during the visitation at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest Toledo, on May 28, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the same location the following day at 11:00 AM, with a graveside service at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania at 12:15 PM.
