Robert F. Blair, retired Army CW4, age 88, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on March 6, 2026. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on July 22, 1937. He was one of seven children.
Bob was a proud U.S. Veteran who served two tours during the Vietnam War, where he was honored with three Purple Heart medals for his bravery. He began his military career with the U.S. Marine Corps and later retired from the U.S. Army. Outside of his dedicated service, Bob cherished his time spent playing golf, traveling, and enjoying the company of his family, along with an occasional glass of scotch.
He is survived by his daughters, Cheri (Claude) Montgomery and Michelle (Brian) Killian; as well as his beloved grandchildren: Anjelica (Steve) Wygant, Kaitlyn (Jordan) Spetz, Ian Scherer, Ashley Fernandes, Bradley (Ashley) Fernandes, Sean (Rachel) Killian, Kyle Killian, Bethany Montgomery, Amanda Murray, and Ryan and Jillian Stoiber.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Ohioans Hospice and his granddaughter, Bethany, for the exceptional care Bob received in his final days.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Newcomer Funeral Home (Southwest Chapel) on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohioans Hospice, 28276 Kensington Lane, Perrysburg, OH 43551, or to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 2231 South Ave, Toledo, OH 43609.Bob will be remembered for his service, dedication, and the love he had for his family. May he rest in peace.
