Richard Jon Waller, age 79, of Maumee, Ohio, peacefully passed away on December 20, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his beloved family. Born in Richmond, California, on November 23, 1946, he was the son of Leon and Ann (Olson) Waller. Richard pursued his education with dedication, earning a bachelor's degree from Ferris State University. He was employed at Chrysler as a quality control supervisor.
Richard had a deep love for his family, often cherishing moments spent together watching football and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He also enjoyed fishing, particularly ice fishing, during his children's younger years. Known for his warmth and kindness, Richard will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diana Waller; his children, Craig (Teri) Waller, Shannan Honsberger, Matthew Waller, and Chad Waller; as well as 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, with 2 more expected this spring. Richard is also survived by his siblings, Len (Carol) Waller and Chris (Mike) Berry, and his sisters- and brothers-in-law, Marilyn (John) Kasmier, Margie Barnard, Jim (Denise) Kimerer, and Alan (Kerry) Gozdowski. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law, Scott Honsberger.
Richard's life was a testament to love, family, and the joy of shared experiences. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. Services will be private.
